Donald passed away on September 12th 2022 at the age of 89. He was born in the Bronx and earned his accounting degree at Baruch College, then joined the Army Audit Agency where he served for two years in Germany. He returned to New York to earn a degree at NYU Law School, becoming licensed in both accounting and law in the State of New York.
For most of his storied career, Donald was a partner at Hecht and Company, PC, where he was deeply devoted to his clients. He was a master negotiator and had the unique ability to come up with innovative responses to resolve problems or issues with which he was often presented. His knowledge of many industries was legendary and countless well respected leaders in the business community sought his advice and counsel. Donald was his clients trusted advisor on all financial matters. He had a keen ability to quickly surmise complex situations and offer intelligent and sensible solutions. Donald was a good listener who generously devoted his time to mentor others. In 2018, his accounting practice was combined into LMC, where he became a Partner Emeritus.
In addition to running a busy accounting practice, Donald devoted much time and effort to many charitable endeavors. His generosity knew no bounds. Donald was the Honorary President of the Chabad House at Rutgers University. He will be sorely missed.
